BWM: Let's talk Camille's out of this world look. What products did you use to make the complete look?
Here’s a list of products I used to create Camille’s first look (In no particular order): Lumene Intense Hydration 24 hour Moisturizer, Loreal True Match Foundation “Sun Beige W6”, LA Girl Pro Concealer “Medium Beige” Mehron Metallic Powder “Silver”, Mehron Mixing liquid, Anastasia Beverly Hills cream contour kit, Anastacia Beverly Hills Dip Brow in Medium Brown, Italia Silver Eye liner, NYX Black Single Eyeshadow, BH Cosmetics Black Gel Eyeliner, Ardell Eyelashes “Tyra Black”, L’Oreal Infallible Black Eyeliner, BH Cosmetics Contour and Blush palette 1, Ben Nye Final Seal Spray and all Morphe makeup brushes.
BBW: Walk us through the application process. Camille’s look.
I started Camille’s makeup with Lumene Intense Hydration 24-hour Moisturizer. She has sensitive skin and I wanted to keep her skin as hydrated as possible since she would be wearing a lot of makeup for the camera as well as being outside filming in the desert area all day.
Next was the brows! I wanted her eyebrows to be bold and defined and be able to stand out under her long bangs. Using a Morphe Angled brow brush and Anastacia Beverly Hills Dip Brow in Medium Brown I was able to create an amazing thick bold brow.
I was so excited to give Camille a metallic smokey eye. I started off with the Silver Mehron Metallic Powder, there’s two ways to use this magical powder; wet or dry. I applied the powder dry to Camille’s entire eyelid using a small eyeshadow brush. Next, with a crease brush and NYX Black Single Eyeshadow blending the black in the crease of her eyes to give a smokey cut crease. Ardell Eyelashes Tyra Black were perfect eyelashes to enhance Camille’s eyes. I went over her lash line with BH Cosmetics Black Gel Eyeliner and winged that liner out then lined her waterline half way from corner to center with L’Oreal Infallible Black Eyeliner.
Now to add the WOW effect to Camille’s eyes with the Silver Mehron Metallic Powder using it wet. With the Mehron Mixing liquid, I mixed a small amount of the metallic powder and used a small angled brush and lined under the black eyeliner of her waterline from the inner corner all the way to the end of her eye as well as going back over with the mixture and a small eyeshadow brush from the inner corner of her eyelid to mid lid blending into the crease.
A foundation brush and Loreal True Match Foundation “Sun Beige W6”, was used on her entire face to even out her skin tone. To contour and define her cheek bones and nose, I blended a Cinnamon brown shade from the Anastasia Beverly Hills cream contour kit. Under Camille’s eyes I used LA Girl Pro Concealer “Medium Beige” and blended it with a small concealer brush. There’s a flesh tone powder in the BH Cosmetics Contour and Blush palette 1 that I used all over Camille’s face to give a matt finish to her skin and topped if off with a pink blush and the Silver Mehron Metallic Powder on her cheek bones, nose and chin to create an amazing silvery pink highlight. To set the makeup and lock in the final look I used a few sprays of Ben Nye Final Seal setting spray.
Last but not least was Camille’s lips. I lined her lips with Italia Silver Eye liner and using the Silver Mehron Metallic Powder wet, made her lips look like liquid metal. The Silver Mehron Metallic Powder was key to creating this look.
BWM: When it comes to the character, what story does the makeup play with her look?
When it comes to the makeup, Camille’s character is displayed as this super empowered space Queen; very strong, bold and fearless. That’s exactly the kind of look we were going for with her makeup. To fit in with the futuristic flow of the album, we wanted to incorporate silver into her look. Keeping her skin natural and flawless and making her eyes and lips stand out.
Let's talk Kristen's fearless look. What was the development process for coming up with her look?
Kristen plays a cool role where she brings out her inner bad ass. Queen of the Alien Hunters; fierce, in charge and ready to take on whatever is going down. We wanted to bring that bad ass vibe to Kristen’s makeup look and give her a dark, mucky touch to her face yet keeping her feminine. Kristen has these incredible brown eyes and I wanted to create a way for her eyes to stand out through all the dark makeup. After the black makeup was applied to her face and eyes, it made her eye color pop and change into this intense brown which added to the effect of her character.
BWM: With her being the villain, how does her makeup differ from Camille’s?
Both women played very powerful characters in this video as everyone will soon see. We wanted to make sure Kristen’s look was completely opposite from Camille yet keeping both ladies looks strong and fierce. With Kristen being the villain, her makeup look is darker and grunge, while Camille’s makeup look is more angelic and futuristic with touches of metallic silver shades. Between the two characters you can feel and see the contrast between good and evil.
BWM: Walk us through the application process.
Kristen was so fun to work with. She has such a beautiful smile and is super sweet. Which is far from the character she plays in the video. When creating her makeup look, I used a lot of black makeup. I wanted her eyes to be dark and her face almost dirty looking. We started her look off by moisturizing her face with Lumene Intense Hydration 24-hour Moisturizer. With a small Morphe buffer brush I used BenNye cream makeup in black using small strokes applying the makeup to her forehead, eyes and nose. Then I applied L’Oreal True Match foundation in “Perfect Beige N5.5” to the lower part of Kristen’s face and slightly blended the black cream makeup down into certain areas of her face to give a dirty look to her skin. After applying the black cream makeup, I defined her eyebrows with Anastacia Beverly Hills Dip Brow in Ebony. Using L’Oreal Infallible Black Eyeliner in her waterline made her eyes really pop to this amazing brown shade. For lipstick we kept the dark essence to her look and used Blackberry Lipsense by Twolips makeup. With Ben Nye powder in Ebony and Black applying it to Kristen’s neck, arms and legs along with a mixture of water and Bentonite Clay to give her a mucky look. As a final touch to the makeup, I sprayed Glycerin mixed with water on her face to create a greasy, sweaty appearance.
Well that's it for today guys! That was so awesome! I can not wait for you guys to see these characters on screen.
